Position Descriptions
Early Head Start Home Visitor
- Provide education and support services to low income families in their homes on a weekly basis as part of a state funded Early Head Start Home Base Option program. Recruit and enroll families that meet requirements for EHS home base program. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, benefits available.
- Must possess a minimum of an AA degree, BS preferred, in early childhood education, child development, social sciences or related field. Must have experience working with children and families in a human service setting.
Head Start Teacher
- Teacher for preschool age children in a federally funded Head Start program. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 34 weeks per year, benefits available. Some positions available for 50 weeks per year.
- Must possess a minimum of an AA degree, BS preferred, in early childhood education or child development. Must have experience teaching or working with preschool age children.
Head Start Teacher Aide/Bus Driver
- Teacher aide and bus driver for preschool age children in a federally funded Head Start program. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 34 weeks per year, benefits available. Some positions available for 50 weeks per year.
- Must be a high school graduate; prefer applicants with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Must also possess a class C CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement or be willing to obtain CDL within six months of employment.
Head Start Class Aide/Bus Aide
- Classroom assistant and bus aide for preschool children in a federally funded Head Start program. Some cleaning duties as needed. Part-time position, 35 hours per week, 30 weeks per year. Some positions available for 50 weeks per year.
- Must be a high school graduate and have experience working with young children.
Early Head Start Teacher 1
- Lead Teacher for infants and toddlers in a federally funded Early Head Start program. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year, benefits available.
- Must possess a minimum of an AA degree, BS preferred, in early childhood education or child development, and have coursework in the infant/toddler area. Prefer applicants with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, infant/toddler endorsement. Must have experience teaching or working with young children.
Early Head Start Teacher 2
- Co-Teacher for infants and toddlers in a federally funded Early Head Start program. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year, benefits available.
- Must possess a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, infant/toddler endorsement, prefer AA degree in early childhood education or child development, and have coursework in the infant/toddler area. Must have experience teaching or working with young children.
Early Head Start Class Aide
- Classroom assistant for infants and toddlers in a federally funded Early Head Start program. Some cleaning duties as needed. Part-time position, 35 hours per week, 50 weeks per year.
- Must be a high school graduate and have experience working with young children.
Cook/Custodian
- Cook and custodian for center serving preschool age children in a federally funded Head Start program. Full time position, 40 hour per week, 34 weeks per year, benefits available. Some positions available for 50 weeks per year.
- Must be high school graduate or possess GED and willing to attend all required program training.
Early Head Start Home Visitor

- Responsible for recruiting and enrolling children, assisting parents in obtaining needed social services, and involving parents fully in the operation of the Head Start program. Assist children and families in receiving services for all components offered by Head Start and Early Head Start. Full time position, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, benefits available.
- Must possess minimum of a high school diploma or GED, prefer minimum of AA degree, in early childhood education, child development, social sciences or related field. Must have experience working with children and families in a human service setting. Must be proficient with computers.
